Summer in Somerville!

For those of you who have been to my studio, you know I'm currently located in the heart of Downtown Somerville on Division Street! It's such a cute area with great shops and you can't go wrong with any (and I mean ANY) of the restaurants. (Seriously, I've tried almost all of them!) But what you might not know is that there are so many fun and family-friendly things to do in the the downtown area all summer long!

First, one of my favorites: The Starlit Cinema! Thursdays at 8:30 pm from July 13th until August 17th you can catch a movie on Division Street! You can hang out and enjoy some Somerville treats, Blue Sheep Bake Shop, where Starlit Cinema takes place, is a great place to grab an ice cream or cupcake. (Did I mention they have ice cream nachos???) Chairs are set up, but bringing your own is recommended, just in case they fill up. Check out this summer's schedule below:

Second up is Somerville Cruise Nights! Watch the town fill up with unique and vintage cars! Car owners from all over New Jersey come to show off their cars on Main Street. I've seen everything there, from classic cars to Knight Rider! Sadly, KITT was there without David Hasselhoff. The area can fill up quickly sometimes so come a bit early or slightly later during the event to make sure parking isn't an issue. Municipal Lots #1 and #6 are your best bets for finding a spot. You can check out all of Downtown's parking options here.

Finally is the Summer Stage on Division Street! Saturdays from July 8th to August 19th at 7pm - 9pm, you can relax on Division Street to some great local music. All acts are family friendly, of course! A great way to enjoy the Summer Stage is to dine outside at one of the many fine Division Street restaurants that offer it such as Pinoy, Division Cafe, and Origins. This gives you the chance to have a delicious meal and enjoy live music at the same time.

Pick your fave (or all three) and come on out to an event! Who knows? You might even see me there taking photos!
